The Mt Gravatt Show offers a suite of ambassador programs designed to inspire, educate, and empower young people within the community. These programs run throughout the year, involving participation at various events hosted by the show society. Whether it is the Rural Ambassador, Junior Ambassador, or Young Woman program, each offers opportunities for training, mentoring, community involvement, and leadership development.

All three ambassador programs operate throughout the year, not just during showtime. Ambassadors are expected to attend various events hosted by the show society and other shows within the Sub-Chamber area. Through their involvement, participants receive training, mentoring, and recognition for their dedication.
Every entrant receives a sash to acknowledge their participation, with additional sashes awarded to winners and runners-up. Participants will also receive a shirt embroidered with the show logo, and potentially with the Ambassador Program name. As the program develops, there is hope it will continue to grow and flourish, becoming a significant part of the Mt Gravatt Show community.

For over 40 years, the Queensland Showgirl Awards has played a vital role in developing young female leaders and shaping them into influential women within their local and broader communities. The Queensland Country Life Showgirl Awards are held across all levels of the agricultural show movement in Queensland, including local, regional (Sub-Chamber), and State levels, with the State Finals coinciding with the Royal Queensland Show in August.
Open to young women aged 18 to 28 with a strong connection to a Queensland Agricultural Show, this program goes well beyond a beauty contest. It aims to educate, encourage, and inspire participants at every level. State finalists are provided with classes in public speaking, deportment, industry tours, and further development opportunities. This initiative is designed to foster the next generation of female leaders.
In alignment with other shows in Queensland and New South Wales, and to better reflect the program’s purpose, the title has been updated to “The Mount Gravatt Show Young Woman.” This program is an excellent avenue for young women to increase their involvement in the local agricultural show and community.

The Queensland Rural Ambassador Awards is the leading rural and agricultural leadership program for both men and women aged 20 to 30. Since 2003, Queensland Ag Shows has run this program to allow young people to promote Queensland, agriculture, rural communities, and show societies. It also provides an opportunity for local communities and Ag Shows to recognise, celebrate, and develop future leaders.
Entrants in the program participate in activities designed to foster personal growth, networking, skill development, and ambition. The program helps build confidence to return to their communities and industries in leadership roles. Finalists are marked by their ongoing commitment and involvement in their communities. At the State Final, 11 Queensland finalists experience industry tours, dine with dignitaries and leaders, and participate in unique opportunities such as Ekka behind-the-scenes, camel farming, and dairy operations.

The Junior Ambassador program is a modified version of the Rural Ambassador and Young Woman programs, tailored for young people aged 12 to 17. This opportunity is open to both males and females and provides age-appropriate training at the show level. Unlike the other two programs, Junior Ambassadors do not progress to Sub-Chamber finals, but they still receive valuable experience and exposure to different aspects of agricultural show life, including cattle, equestrian, pavilions, and behind-the-scenes activities.
The program helps nurture young leaders and encourages a sustained interest in the various elements of the agricultural show community.
